Get In… Get Out
8 Places To Go Out Late

Ghetto Pass Release Party @ The Ruby Lounge, Caladonian Road, London on Friday October 10th.
New York’s T&A Records have just released ‘Ghetto Pass’ so get ready for a cheekily little party with stars from Hear Nu Evil, Oh-Death and Chew The Fat. pulled Fashion Editor Kirsty Drury from Mixmag and The Big Breakfast telly show here once. What lovely knockers!

Know-where @ Club Mass, London Friday October 10th.
Now don’t get me wrong, us here at DMC think The Tidy Boys are absolute tossers –  anyone called Amadeus in our book needs sitting down, having a stern word with and presenting with a list of boys name to head off to deedpoll with. But for all you hard house fanatics out there, this looks a biggie. Brixton getting ready for weird clothing, really over-energetic dancing who look like you’re having a fit on the dancefloor, clubbing accessories draped around your bodies that could quite easily get you a job in a circus – and possibly an ambulance or two taking you all home, as DJs Adam White, Ed Real (and you know) spin the industrial sounding music – that will definitely make your neighbours move out if you leave your CD on ‘Repeat’ and fuck off on holiday for a fortnight.

Chew the Fat! 11th Birthday @ The End, London on Friday October 10th.
Basically, just quality, quality music with Duke Dumont, Micky Slim, The Rogue Element, Foamo vs Heavyfeet, Kid Blue, Drums of Death, Baobinga , Reso and Hey Joe. Electro House, Dirty House, Tech House, Bassline House, Electro, Breaks, Funky Techno and Electro Techno sending us home on the night bus looking like a freak.

Circo Loco – The DC 10 Reunion @ The End, West Central Street, London on Saturday October 11th.
What a strange summer these Ibiza lunatics have had. Open then closed, open then closed by the local council. Anyway, sure there’ll be lots of great DJs on at this including the RPR Soundsystem and Shane Watcha. You can’t touch this great club in London you Ibiza dick-heads.

Hed Kandi @ The Play Bar & Club, Merthyr Tydfil on Saturday October 11th.
I don’t get this. The most beautiful house music label in the world in a town renowned for people who have three legs, would quite happily wear a bin bag out on at night and have faces like sea monsters. Steve Doyle, Gemma J, Shabs, Craig Bartlett and the Afrom Buddha System will be entertaining the sea serpents…

The Stag And Dagger – Shoreditch’s coolest new place to spend a night out at…

So owner Tom Gravett,.. I’m not sure Shoreditch has known what’s hit them with your place. A restaurant and music bar/club in a beautiful art deco, opulent roaring 1920s styled building. A traditional, but elaborate take on a period of history that was awash with celebration and debauchery. What made you go down this route?

“More than anything, the idea sprung from a rebellion against the credit crunch. I was sick of hearing about different banks closing, businesses failing and general depression – I just thought why not? I get a lot of inspiration from a similar time in the 1920’s and think that we can show people how to be party despite the current state of affairs!”

What did you do before 145 Shoreditch Hight Street then?
“The ‘Be’ club nights, the Old Crown Public House in WC1 are my projects too – but I am now realising my ambition of showcasing live music talent in my own nightclub. I have spent a life-time in clubland. Waiter, barman, publican, promoter and now club owner, I have seen it all and forgotten most of it.”

Tell us about ‘Be’, ‘The Stag and Dagger’ and other things up your sleeve…
‘Be’ has become, over the years, a real stalwart on the London club scene. It has gone from strength to strength consistently and is now better than ever. We have masses of really strong line ups over the coming months and things can only get better -and bigger!”

What sort of bands n’ DJs will be expecting at The Last Days of Decadence?

“Good ones, really good ones. We are striving to showcase the best of the best in up and coming DJ’s and live musicians for a fair price in nice surroundings.”

What’s the nosh like?

Really tasty. Very similar to our other venue, The Old Crown, with arguably the best steak sandwich in London!”
