Trainspotting With CHANEY

Since his breakout record on Skint in 2019, CHANEY has become one of the UK’s most in-demand dance music DJ/Producers, releasing on key imprints such as Toolroom, D4 D4NCE [Defected Records], Insomniac, Edible, KooKo, Good Company, Armada, Cr2, and Stress Records. Describing his sound as, “Nostalgic” and taking influences from, “disco, Deep House and early 2000s house,” the turning point for Chaney’s career came when he released ‘39 Times’ on Skint, receiving strong tastemaker support from heavyweights such as Patrick Topping, Jamie Jones, and Annie Mac, who invited him onto her esteemed BBC Radio 1 show. Getting ready to rock XOYO for Love & Other this Saturday March 8th, DMCWorld goes Trainspotting with CHANEY.

CHANEY – Moving To The Beat – CHaned To The Rhythm

This is my first selection and it’s the B-Side from my new EP on my brand new label Chaned To The Rhythm. It’s a high-energy disco/house thumper which I’m buzzing to finally have out there!

TCTS – Take Me (Favourite Place) – TACTICS

Serious weapon from TCTS showing off his immense production skills in this absolute stomper of a record. I’m a big fan of this super “straight” marching groove that has a really luscious vocal and chord progression integrated throughout the breakdowns.

Max Chapman, Paluma – Playboy – Sweatrz Records

Proper minimal roller – love how groovy them synths are bouncing off each other. A big tune!

Simon Kidzoo – Freaks Don’t Sleep – NO ART

Have had this EP on repeat from Simon Kidzoo recently but this track in particular has really been making me feel really excited for the summer – it’s just simply that kind of record!

Premiere: Simon Kidzoo - Freaks Don't Sleep [No Art]

Illyus & Barrientos – Zapata – Toolroom

Something a little different from the boys – absolutely loving this. Amazing world percussion and vocals that feel super organic and raw and it goes ridiculously hard on a good set of speakers.

Carlita – Time – Ninja Tune

Carlita has been making some bangers for a while and also making serious waves as a DJ – but her debut album is simply amazing. This particular track featuring Janet Planet from Confidence Man (big fan here) is just feel-good house music – exactly the way it should be. Also sounds like there is a sample/reinterpretation of Coraçao (Jerry Ropero) – which I only recently noticed – but absolutely love this bosa-nova style piano chords, just takes you straight to Ibiza.

Demuir – Beat 8 – Groovphoria Records

Heard this at the start of the year and instantly fell in love with that hypnotic sample and groove. Seriously under-stated banger.

DJ Swisha & OSSX – How U Feelin’

Been banging this one non-stop since first hearing it last year. If you’re partial to a cheeky break and a hooky RnB Vocal you will bloody love this, like me.

Dusky – Keep On (Club Dub) – 17 Steps

Dusky initially released the main version for this last year – which is a work of art, but this club dub really breathed a new big of life into what was an already amazing record.

Anil Aras – Feel Free   – PIV

For my final track I’m leaving with you this stonker from Anil Aras. Expect to hear me banging this one at any given opportunity!

Catch CHANEY alongside TCTS, Joshwa, Raphie and Charlie Powell at XOYO, London this Saturday 8th for LWE, as Toolroom sub-label Love & Other hosts its inaugural event.
