A great piece of 80s UK soul with infectious guitar riff and synths I had the pleasure to remix; it’s never easy to combine the original groove with a modern approach but I really like the result.
Street People – I Wanna Get Over (Cosmodelica Remix) – Ace Records
I love the way Colleen (Cosmo) updated this soul/disco classic, another perfect example of modern approach without losing the original core of the track
Danism & Train feat. Toshi – Mabele (Moplen Remix) – So Sure Music
I loved the afro/deep feeling of the original and for this one I added a different, more soulful vibe, thanks also to the additional keys by Dom Scuteri
Marcel Vogel & Tim Jules feat. Javonntte – Just Because (LYMA Remix) – Lumberjacks In Hell
This LYMA remix is perfect from start to end and the change in the second half is uplifting.
2fox, Laville – Elevation (Tommy Musto Zero Hour Vocal Mix) – Soul Clap Records
Tommy needs no introduction, a legend in this game since the 80s; the way he treated this song is another level, he is one of the best in adding soulful vibes to the songs; do you remember his remix of Don-E “don’t she”? I do.
Soulista – Mystic Horizons – Groove Culture
Italians do it better! Groove Culture is better known for its discofied soulful style, but this one is different, deeper and jazzier and I really like the way it’s built.
T.Markakis – Take A Ride – Peppermint Jam Records
This track is pure magic, its breakdown in the middle is ethereal and when the beat kicks in it’s pure joy.
Art Of Tones – Hoping For Another Chance – Big Love
I’ve been a fan of Ludovic (Llorca) for ages and this is one of his best works to date, the bassline is terrific and lyrics reminds me of 90s uplifting house music, which is always a good thing.
Andromeda Orchestra – Mythical (Full Motion Dub Mix) – Faze Action Records
Taken from recent album, this dub sums up all the things I liked when nu-disco was born in the mid 90’s with labels like Nuphonic; it’s not a surprise this act is Robin Lee (Faze Action).
The Abstract Eye – To Be Determined – Technoindigenous Studies
Deep house? Techno? Who cares, this is freaky, hypnotic, raw and emotional as f**k.
