Get in for free to the UK’s premier beatboxing battle
Saturday 22 June sees Jamm host the 2013 UK Beatbox Championships, presenting the UK’s premier Beatbox talent under one roof. This annual vocal showdown aims to find the finest beatboxers from all corners of the UK for what will be a jaw dropping day of eliminations and battles, as the entrants are reduced in numbers until new champions over four exciting categories are crowned as this years winners.
Although hip-hop in origin, the modern beatbox scene is much more dynamic, incorporating rock, dub-step, drum’n’bass, house and more. The championships in particular are all about diversity and talent, seeking to hype up the crowd as the tension grows throughout the day. With top DJs backing the microphones throughout, the party always rocks from start to finish.
The competition has 4 categories, Solo (open to men and women), Women, Teams (each team has 2 members) and Looping (single competitor with looping equipment). They will be judged by three legends of the scene in Bellatrix, THePETEBOX and FAYA BRAZ, while none other than lyrical master Stig Of The Dump will be the host of proceedings. With the reigning champions from 2012 back to retain their crown, plus another 50 artists preparing to do all they can to strip their titles from them, this Championships has all the makings of being the most exciting competition in their history, as well as setting an incredibly high standard across all categories and raising the bar for the future artists.
