Been looking forward to this long player of sounds from Dance Spirit for some time now curious to hear where they would take me. Pushing the envelope is perhaps the best way to describe the results of this stunning album, which takes in the sights and sounds of a diverse set of influences while broadening their own horizons via a number of exciting collaborations. Vocals feel refreshing and bright on ‘Waiting In The Light’ as they do on the opening ‘The Sun Also Rises’, but then alternatively sound 60’s and playfully psychedelic with Nikko Gibbler’s ‘Where You Want To Be’. Conversely, ‘Lamentation’ featuring Jay Tripwire is perhaps more the sort of dancefloor sounding production that you might be expecting but either way the album is never short on sonic reward.
