It’s like Daft Punk have never been away…but it would be cruel on Justice to label them mere copycats. ‘D.A.N.C.E.’ projects an infectious enjoyment of life in its simple children’s chorus, not to mention the funky filtered bass line and groovy beat. String lines jump about in the background, electro synth lines weave in and out, and all the time that chorus keeps coming back to haunt you. The extended ‘B.E.A.T’ jumbles up the drums but keeps the same funkiness, inserting a subtle break in the middle, while B-side ‘Phantom’ makes good use of a cut ‘n’ paste approach and a solid, funky beat. As for the original – one of the singles of the summer, surely?
