Solid State Revival is ex-Delakota member Des Murphy. After quitting the band in 1998, Des went on a trail blazing trip across the Mojave Desert, in hazy sun drenched Southern California, where he obviously found the inspiration for making “From The Bubble To The Box”. The opening “Step Into The Sun” is proper feel good fuzzy pop with just the right amount of psychedelics, & “A Piece Of Heaven In Your Heart”, floats radio mic vocals on warm mellow pads, leading to fucked up beats, & the sweetly strung slumber of “Circles” could quite easily give Mercury Rev a run for their money. There’s some great songs here & I’ll bet Solid State Revival is gonna be a name to drop at all the right party‘s. Sunday Best have done it again.
