The Timewriter
Tiefenschon
Plastic City

Been meaning to gush about this Plastic City classic for weeks, but just have to say the sixth album in 15 years from Jean F. Cochols, aka The Timewriter, is a scorcher, bristling with melody, inventive twists and tracks which hit where it counts in similar widescreen fashion to the European electronic heart and mind-stormers of the 90s. He can spring from the deep sea tech-house of ‘Broken Spell’ [with sublime vocals from Theresa Baltimore] to the soothing New York house sound of ‘Ten Strut’ [featuring Ven Lizard], without missing a beat, such is the assured and well-crafted nature of the music here. ‘Retime’ and ‘Ausatmen’ clinch the gorgeous vibe to send out one of the year’s outstanding tech-edged house outings.
