You don’t have to like Disco to love this but then again it would help. Although in reality this doesn’t have that much to do with the explosion of over four decades ago because while this music does take its cue it belongs much more to the here and now. So hats off to Sean Brosnan for compiling and expertly mixing together this excellent selection of funky and soulful goodness which isn’t afraid to either tackle real songs a la Toby Tobias ‘The Feeling’ or indeed serious instrumentation such as Tensnake’s heavy duty ‘Congolal’. But perhaps the litmus test is when you just feel that urge to keep on nudging up the volume levels to accommodate the smile which is all over your face.
