One time Manchester crew Def Inc have been steadily making a name for themselves via top-notch club gigs and genre hopping remixes, including their huge re-work of Coldplay’s “God Put A Smile On Your Face”. Here they prove their versatility with two different but equally funky club bangers. “Acid Rock” is no relation to the old Euro rave anthem, but it does kick like a mule, solid breaks underlining wah-wah guitar and some super-fast scratched samples. Plenty of drops ensure the energy flows in all the right places. “Stripped Down Funk” is the no-nonsense worker of the pair, grinding beats, farting bass and cool riffs making a heady concoction.
