Well what an interesting not run of the mill makes a change pushing the envelope release we have here on Botchit’s sub label Contrabass, the label is indeed making a name for itself for fine electronica and not following the pack but that’s what Jason Sparks has always done and good on him! Featuring Elmo Jones (sang on Atomic Hooligan album), the original is a rock break beat(ish) affair, guitar, live drums rock anthem. ‘The Valley Of The Blind’ mix from Sparks is a more electronic epic rendition, bringing in subs, drops, builds and effects, but keeping the rock indie edge, also a superb use of the live horn section, Bobby Gillespie would be proud. Eskmo turns in a stripped back dub step jilted jagged reworking. Lars Moston remix, cut up beats and 4/4 aimed at the floor with dissected vox. Interesting and refreshing and why not!
