Kidda is just what the doctor ordered in these bleak severe weather warning conditions, as he brings a ray of Brighton sunshine on wet and windy times. The “Going Up EP” opens with the feel good vibes of “Under The Sun”, as 70’s influenced soulful vocals soar over get down breaks and ride big brass riffs. You just know it’s gonna be a great day. “Smile” goes on a playful soul infused chilled out tip, bringing The Avalanches to mind. “Strong Together” is up next, gliding it’s way across the floor on northern soul elements. “Hey Y’all” brings the “Going Up EP” to a funky jazz tinged finale, that builds with layered strings and fantastic gospel infused protest vocals. Kidda’s debut album “Going Up” is due spring 2008… It’s gonna be a big one.
