The mighty Parliafunkadelicment Thang is paid worthy homage on the new London label’s third mayhemic outing. There never has, is or will be anyone else to touch George Clinton in the outer limits space funk race. Madox knows that and, over a filthy breaks-beast of a groove, lets George’s own drawl fill you in. It’s a wigged-out, funked-up steamer of massive proportions. The flip’s ‘Bootsycall’ lets The Funk take over on a murderous P-hump growler which, while invoking the star-bass spirit of the mighty Bootsy Collins, packs the monolithic power of Led Zep’s ‘Trampled Underfoot’. Sprinkled with Bernie Worrell-esque hallucino-synth action, this will play havoc with the Mothership’s radar. Free your mind and your ass will follow.
