Double-headed trailer for the Freshtraxx 2 album bodes well. Shimon makes his first foray out of drum ‘n’ bass and bumps into Scott Nixon, who’s celebrating claiming the Guinness World record for the Highest Ever DJ Gig by playing at over 4200 metres in Pakistan [therefore not touching my performance at Brixton Academy with the Orb in ’97 then!]. Their collaboration plants dubbed out vocal shards over nasty buttock-chomping riffage and a skipping beat to no doubt toupee-removing effect. Flipwise, Bosch – a new Australian signing who Finger Lickin claim is Jason Donovan’s little bro’ – makes his debut with some tribal-tinged breaks handed over to Nick Thayer for some interior decorating with the hiphop vocal snippets subjected to a kangaroo testicle-sized drop. Should be a good album.
