Concisely defining a time when drum pads were the height of technology, keyboards you could wear like a guitar were king and rolled up jacket sleeves Miami Vice-style were a status symbol, this is deliciously backdated yet is as smooth an urban vintage as you could ask for in preserving everything that Chromeo stand for. The Jets’ ‘Rocket 2 You’ – a fine dissection of a woman wanting a DIY expert instead of a bedroom specialist – captures the era perfectly.
