Crazy P topically open with Post Office’s excellent curiosity Rust and proceed to captivate you with a mix that travels through every territory from jazzy to funky with the definite emphasis always being on the funk. Never afraid to experiment with either rhythm or just plain weirdness they are also equally at home with melody and good old fashioned words for communication. But apart from that what makes this edition of ‘later’ so special, or indeed of any currently compilation, is that it feels as if its been put together with due care and attention as opposed to some cynical opportunism. And so to the heart of the matter and the music which features a number of their own excellent recordings alongside selections from the likes of PBR Streetgang and the tremendously titled Haggis Horns, all of which culminates into fourteen glorious slices of good times. A hit.
