Remember the first time you heard ‘French Kiss’ and were so totally and utterly drawn into the hypnotic rambling bass that regardless of how monotonous it was you knew you’d never tire of it? Well Eric Kupper and his K-Scope alter-ego obviously does as he takes all those elements for ‘Elektrikiss’ to create a burbling offering not a million miles removed that will work away at you till you succumb. It’s the title track from an opus full of magical moments and quirky electro-etched grooves. ‘Deepest Desire’ has all the hallmarks of Francois K in his late-’90s Wave days, weaving a deep crafted mixture of synth-laden house over a simple, yet memorable melody. While ‘Deepest Desire’ adheres to a more percussive state of mind as lazy congas, tribal-kissed beats, marimba keys and snaking basslines meld to create an absorbing and totally captivating. Just a trio of hot items from what could well become a landmark release.
