In just over three years, Adrian Gibson’s Freestyle label has amassed an
impressive back catalogue, covering funk, jazz, latin, house and most styles
in between. Here, DJ Andy Smith gets to grip with the funkier side of the
releases, and is allowed to cut his way through twenty tracks of funky
delights. Amidst a few original edits and blends, there’s The New
Mastersounds, Speedometer, T J Chill, Aphletik, Random Heroes, Nick The
Record and The Boogaloo Investigators, all representing the diversity of the
label and underpinning the sound with that all important funk factor.
Superb mixing on display from Mr Smith, too.
