Klimek follows his Dedications set with an ambitious foray into cinematic moods and panoramic atmosphere, symphonic and spaced, mainly using pulses rather than beats. ‘Exploding Unbearable Desires’ adds a whole new dimension of floatation to the ambient form, while ‘Pathetic And Dangerous’ recalls the ominous, subterranean juddering of Bowie’s Low experiments. Meanwhile, tracks like ‘Greed, Mutation, Betrayal’ strike out further into space-jazz vistas with brass and eerie textures. A fine testimony to the breadth and depth of today’s constant electronic foraging.
