At last someone from Holland has finally made thee coffee shop / red light district happening album. Oscar De Jong, Mark Kneppers & Wim Plug (ooh missus), have come up with the perfect soundtrack to a night out in Amsterdam. “Money in The Bag” gets us suitably fired up for a night on the town, with it’s “ah oh ooh baby”. “One Of These Days” sets a soulful feel good mood & “Keep On Searching” gets all sassy on your ass. “Jolie Banane” has got a jazz funk Balearic feel, while “Keep Me Home” goes straight for the peak time flashy dancing. “Danse macabre” lets you know that the drugs have kicked in & we’re about to hit the sleazy side of town, “5 To 4” wet kippers you & lets you know you’ve arrived. “Say Yeah” puts us in a blaxploitation version of Twin Peaks, & “No Sun In The Sky” says take five. Mambo Solitario“ gives you a chance to break into a sweat & reflect on the nights proceedings so far, while “Maputo Express” brings on that second wind. Finally “Hello Big Mama” brings your night to a close, but d’you know what, it just makes you wanna do it all over again.
