It’s also been a good year for Stuart Price, the multi-personality producer known as Jacques Lu Cont, Thin White Duke and Paper Faces amongst many – Grammy Remix Awards, and TV ads with dancing transformers, as well producing a certain Madonna album in the process too. Under his Les Rythmes Digitales alias he rocked many a dancefloor a few years back, and now following the runaway success of ‘Jacques Your Body’ in Citroen’s ad campaign, sees it re-released with a bonus disc of remixes. It’s a quirky and at times off kilter album with guests including Shannon, the first queen of electro (‘Take A Little Time’) and ‘80s pop icon Nik Kershaw (‘Sometimes’). But the stronger material is Price’s own vocoded work – ‘From Disco To Disco’, ‘(Hey You) What’s That Sound’ and ‘Music Makes You Lose Control’ with well placed familiar samples wiping the floor with their named counterparts.
