If the Staring Into Space album wasn’t enough, Silicone Soul’s Craig Morrison and Graeme Reedle now turn to their own label, showcasing one of the year’s special imprints as well as their ability to forge a killer DJ set. Including remixes and yet-to-be-released material, the results are phenomenal. Silicone’s presence is felt with their awesome remixes of Swimming Pool Sounds’ ‘Submergible’ and Autodelic’s ‘Hidden Fortress’ along with their own gorgeous ‘Devil Drives’. There’s also the label’s original maiden voyage with the bosses trading as Astrocats on ‘I Need 2 Freak’. There’s a suitable 20:20 Vision connection with the Spirals – aka Silver City – impressing on three excursions, plus the mighty duo of Ralph Lawson and Carl Finlow as Wolf ‘N’ Flow. Hipp-e’s luxurious dub of Juan Iborra’s ‘House Rallante’ orbits two flying space-funkers from America’s Dano. It all goes out with Will Dawson’s ‘Under The Water’. Darkroom Dubs take house music into intoxicating new dimensions which are deceptively simple yet ejaculated with a passion and knowledge of what rocks the steamiest early hours dancefloor. It’s one of those rare albums where each track can only be greeted with an involunatary whoop of total delight.
