This is the second in a series that offers a great counterpart to the more upfront Anjunabeats compilations from the likes of Above & Beyond, but it isn’t without adrenaline rushes of its own. These occur throughout CD1, with the building chords of Jamie Matrix’s ‘Rotation’ and a dreamy take on BT’s ‘Flaming June’, whose riff sounds just as fresh as it did thirteen years ago. The second set is faster but has just the same attractions, with the spaced out piano breakdown of Marcus Schossow’s ‘London’ a particular highlight. Both mixes don’t really put a foot wrong, and sound fresh and totally unpretentious – business as usual, then, for the more mellow end of the Anjunabeats roster.
