This is a very classy piece of work, a pair of mixes from two established DJs who know how to pace a mix to perfection. In both of these cases the pacing is not particularly fast, being essentially chilled music for kicking back to, but in Jody Wisterhoff’s case there is a carefully calculated upping of the pace as the mix progresses. His is a blend of old and new, the new including welcome exclusives from Yotto, Lancelot and Lane8. The ebb and flow is also spot on where label boss Grant is concerned, though his hits a very impressive set of tracks towards the end from Wisternoff himself (‘The Bridge’ with vocalist Sian Evans), Meramek’s ‘Know Me’ and Way Out West’s finely crafted ‘Tuesday Maybe’. You really can’t go wrong with this pair!
