Computer Incarnations For World Peace 2 Compiled By Gerd Janson
Sonar Kollektiv

The first incarnation of ‘Computer Incarnations’ looked at early ’80s rarities and some new wave stuff – the sequel takes on the recent fixation with disco, and more specifically the sort of slow disco the Scandinavians do so well. To that effect the ultra-rare ‘Reinbagan’ of Todd Terje and Prins Thomas is included, but in truth each of these tracks makes some waves. Ray Mang’s ‘To And Fro’ makes good use of the steel pan, Project Sandro and Al Usher contribute two richly mellow takes on the genre, while Woolfy’s ‘Odyssey’ and the vocal Daniel Wang/Brennan Green mix of Crazy Penis’s ‘Keep On’ also make a favourable impression. Janson’s selection is impeccably chosen, and while it may not be mixed that matters not, as this is the finest compilation Sonar Kollektiv have done so far this year.
