For years Belfast’s Shine parties have been among the most mayhem-packed in
the world. Jet Projects Timmy Stewart and John McIver are residents there,
as well as Stiff Kitten. Obviously they know their house music and what
onions will plant a bomb under the sternest buttocks. As with many great
DJIng partnerships, making tunes was a logical step and their debut is the
expected killer. The title track matches lush pads and chords out of early
Strictly Rhythm with sumptuous strings and a scorching undertow. It’s
already detonating carnage and will do so throughout the summer. The flip’s
‘Good To Go’ is sparser and driving with sighing boogie strings, while ‘To
The Speaker’ is a snarling bass assault offset by Detroit cliffhanger riffs.
Say hello to a dynamic new duo.
