Horsemeat Disco III
Strut

Thanks to their regular festival appearances, Horsemeat Disco are ever more established as purveyors of party music, and a third volume of tuneage for Strut is as welcome as it is inevitable. Again the team is James Hillard, Jim Stanton, Severino and Filthy Luka, and they bring together a selection of old and new that is extremely well picked. CD1 has as its primary appeal a previously unavailable bootleg from Ron Hardy of First Choice’s ‘Let No Man Put Asunder’, but also works in the Todd Terje edit of Claudja Barry’s ‘Sweet Dynamite’ and Yam Who?’s new cover of Sha-Lor’s ‘I’m In Love’, a seamless blend of past and present. The whole of CD2 is devoted to New York sleaze disco, paying tribute to the sadly departed Loleatta Holloway as she sings ‘Seconds’ with the Salsoul Orchestra, and bringing out the horns in force for the start of Baiser’s ‘Summer Breeze’. Again, an irresistible couple of hours from the quartet which is bound to soundtrack a number of parties this summer – if it will ever stop raining!
