Ten years for the German duo Tiefschwarz are celebrated in this double pack – a new ‘Blackmusik’ mix and a set of remixes, cleverly putting the originals of ‘Troubled Man’, ‘Original’ and ‘Blow’ alongside their remixes by Rude Hagelstein, Samim and Radio Slave. The mix is the key though, and is excellent – with early minimal house from Pawel trumped by the surprise but welcome inclusion of Marianne Faithfull’s ‘Broken English’, before a serene closing section that includes Francesco Tristano’s piano-only take on ‘Strings Of Life’, following up groovy cuts from Ralph Rosario, Broke and Ron Trent. The boys at their best.
