Lately Slip ‘n’ Slide have shown a pleasing tendency to go back to the tougher side of house, and that trend continues with this, a sound party mix from Jonny Williams. Giving each track plenty of time to breathe, he generates plenty of energy by the time cuts from Firefly and Audiofly hit the floor, with no need for the skip button. Lee Cabrera’s ‘G minor’ gets a good makeover from Soul Avengerz, but the pick is the latest mix of De’Lacy’s ‘Hideaway’ from Pete Gooding, with warm synthesizer chords giving a new take on the classic. Good stuff, does the job well.
