It’s been a good year of mixing for Andy Caldwell, who teams up with San Fran’s Charl Chaka for a decent house mix of contrasting styles. Caldwell is the smoother of the two but as always manages to steer clear of indulgent noodling – his heavyweights come from Mark Grant, The Changes and Florian Kruse. Chaka may not be so much of a familiar name but he seems to be more of a pretender to the Mark Farina throne, with a set that zips through some bouncing beats from Johnny Fiasco, DJ Sneak, Troydon and the Candy Dealers. A welcome dash of summer to warm the cockles as winter sets in.
