‘Psy trance’ pops its head out from the underground to proclaim itself as a new commercial genre. What you really need to know about this release, though, is that it lives up to its DJ’s previous form. John 00 Fleming has shown himself to be a model of consistently good trance mixes, and the two included here are energetic, packed with riffs, big break downs and driving beats. The first mix retains a cool air with its heavy beats, and tracks from Ace Ventura, Human Blue and Freq excel. CD2 all seems geared to Infected Mushroom’s ‘Deeply Disturbed’, a big bruiser of an anthem with which it ends – and the journey is similarly frenetic. To cap it all Fleming throws in a mixed up artist album, bringing together collaborative work with Digital Blonde as 00.db. Strongly recommended.
