If one thing is for sure, Guy Gerber has always been about deep and emotive house music. His first label Supplemental Facts leant towards the groggy end of the spectrum and now his second one Rumors is more house aligned. After a number of branded parties around the world and EPs from Dixon, the boss and Lake People, the imprint now comes correct with eight new tracks on this excellent sampler. Opening up the sampler are a safe pair of hands in the form of Konrad Black and Matin Buttrich, who get all trip and weird with their slinky tech house cut Siamese Connection. Its a synthetic, writhing tune with lots of late night naughtiness in its bones and then comes the likes of Rhymes with Grey Table, a more laid back, horizontal and fat dubby roller that will set the scene nicely at the start of any night. Then comes Chaim, who has released on the label before and who once again excels in a chilly, haunting deep house groove awash with heavenly synths and chords. Hunter Game, a hot duo rising fast through the ranks, then get all bleary eyed and twinkling with their ’Squares’ tune before Clarion, who used to be in Footprintz, conjures up a nicely out there atmosphere with his bubbly roller Before We Are Strangers Again. One thing is for sure, this label compilation is bursting at the seams with fantastic talents that all add plenty to the global house conversation.
