The natural progression from running a successful internet breaks radio station is to start a label under the same name. This is the sound of a label growing with every release and finding a common thread to give it an identity. There’s a real low-slung, swagger about a lot of the tracks on here, which is punctuated by well defined beats that cut through the rolling, throbbing bass that provides the essential foundations for this no-nonsense workout. There’s all manner of quality names on here from BLIM to Slyde, Santos to Maddox and peaking with contributions from the excellent Rogue Element and SuperstyleDeluxe, who are both responsible for the bona fide highlights on this compilation, due to the ease with which they manipulate sound into slices of the sleaziest filthy-funk.
