South London’s legacy of dubstep doesn’t need much further introduction – newspapers and magazines have been loudly proclaiming the arrival of the stepchild of grime and D&B for a good while now, even listing Burial’s debut album as one of the most important albums of 2006 (it is very good, though).  Better, though, to let the music  take centre stage, which is exactly what the Soul Jazz label prefer to do.  No fuss, no academic waffle, Box Of Dub is happy to present twelve exclusive compositions from some of the finest dub minded folk today – Skream, Kode 9, the aforementioned Burial, Digital Mystikz, and Scuba – all rewiring the imaginary boundaries of electronic dub (think King Tubby, Scientist, etc), allowing darker basslines and mutated musical influences to drift through a land of scattered beatscapes.  Still, don’t follow the hype; follow your ears and feel the bass – it all leads much, much deeper yet.
