Clever, very clever. From Roy Ayers to Cut Copy’s ‘Zz’, Annie Mac’s alphabet crosses two CDs and a whole host of genres in the course of an uplifting couple of hours. The second mix goes to the disco, and with the help of Metric, The Similou and X-Press 2 provides plenty of rump shaking action. Annie’s first mix is a more reflective affair, but manages to flit between styles with ease as it includes a sublime Hot Chip track, with Jamie Lidell and High Contrast also playing starring roles. Throughout the track choices are imaginative and interesting, and it’s clear a lot of work – and skill – has gone into this. More please!
