Transport is owned by DJs MFR and Miguel Migs, and with the latter about to release his second artist album it’s MFR who comes up with an excellent mix of warm California house here. All the familiar elements of West Coast vocal house music are present and correct – full bodied beats, strong bass, cool keyboards and melting vocals – but there’s always something a bit extra here, in tracks like Nathan G’s classy ‘Teach U How 2 Fly’, remixed by Jay-J, or Migs’ own ‘Mood Is Right’ and ‘City People’. It’s all so effortless, it makes you want to get on the next plane to San Fran and soak up the sunshine!
