The brightly coloured Watergate series is really bedding in nicely, and continues to choose its DJs carefully and originally. Mathias Kaden steps up to their fourteenth release, and delivers a mix that seems to incorporate a lot of different styles, from the grace and poise of the opening to some more obvious pumped up house as the mix gets going. The smoky, quite dreamy start soon establishes a beat, to which Emanuel Satie adds some warm organ chords in ‘Move’. Alejandro Paz overs the distinctive vocal track ‘El House’, while Christian Burkhardt weighs in with some low level funk on ‘Under The Wheel’ and then Kader himself throws in some good piano action in ‘Fin’. Eventually the beats fade to leave the wavy ‘Distillery’, a track from Daniel Stefanik, the mix ending in the same spacey feel that it began. Definitely worth an hour of your time!
