The fine attired Scottish wags continue their trademark glam stomp with the second cut to be lifted from their excellent third LP “Tonight”. In typical Franz Ferdinand style, “No You Girls” has got the big anthem sing-a-long chorus, propelled 4/4 beats, power chords, handclaps & disco licks, but their is a twist in the middle where it all goes a bit Sparks, which is nice. “No You Girls” comes with no less than 8 remixes, the highlights being Noze who delivers a Balearic teaser, building shuffling percussion over deep rhythms that get topped off with melodic flourishes, and injecting the choruses with a good dose of acidic electronics. Meanwhile The Grizzle cooks up a steamy low slung hip swivelling groove with totally spun out freaky vocals, which works to great effect. Another first rate winner from Franz Ferdinand.
