Two fulsome sets of house from Defected here, the Studio Apartment mix especially keeping its foot on the pedal, with Copyright, Martijn Ten Velden, Tong & Spoon and ATFC responsible for just a few of the highs. Its best moments, however, are at the end, where Rune RK & Clara Sofie’s emotive ‘Cry Out’ segues into a blended version of Hideo Kobayashi’s ‘Fearless’, where Lisa Shaw is on form as the guest vocalist. Rae’s mix has as its centrepiece the cover of Kosheen’s ‘Hide U’, a collaboration with Sandy Rivera, while some of the more classic house on offer here includes contributions from Louie Vega & Jay ‘Sinister’ Sealee (‘Diamond Life’), Michael Gray & Danism (‘You Will Remember’, with Rae on vocals) and the Jose Nunez production ‘Yesterday’. As always from Defected, a beautifully produced package – crucially with music to match.
