Defected In The House – Zouk Out Singapore 2010 Mixed By Simon Dunmore & DJ B
Defected

This is a completely enticing package, and I can guarantee that if you haven’t been to Zouk yet, you’ll be clamouring to go by the time you’ve listened to the mixes and looked at the generous booklet. Defected’s presentation is normally very good but they’ve really excelled themselves here, both visually and musically. Simon Dunmore delivers a vibrant first set, starting with an expert blend of Blaze’s ‘Do You Remember House’ and the yearning vocal of Yasmeen Sulieman’s ‘Gone’. These clever blends are a feature of the mix, which gets to some seriously funky numbers by the end. DJ B’s set is a touch more mellow to begin with, the smooth remixes of Michel Cleis’ ‘La Mezcla’ and South Street Players’ ‘Who Keeps Changing Your Mind’ seeing to that, but gradually the beats and basslines sharpen to end with DJ Chus & The Groove Foundation. This is what Defected does best, seeing out the decade with a wide-eyed grin on its face.
