The jewel in the crown of this release is the cool bonus mix from Dessous label head Steve Bug, who gets together some seriously deep and classy tracks to create a full bodied house mix. Among these are his mix of the Discowboys’ ‘At Midnight’, the Gorge remix of Claire Ripley’s ‘Labyrinth’ and the very fine Ryo Murakami remix of Innocent Lovers’ ‘Neophunk’, which takes on more of a techno feel. CD1 is also very fine, introducing some quality deep stuff from David Durango, Andrade and Rene Breitbath, showing what rude health the label is in. This is pretty much quality from start to finish, deep house with a frisson of attitude that keeps it very much alive.
