It’s possible you have never heard of Alfredo. Yet this one man hugely inspired and influenced so many djs. Why he never got the recognition he deserved is a mystery. If one concedes deejaying is above all about personality then Alfredo is unquestionably up there with the best of them all, Larry Levan, Afrika Bambaata, Mark Moore, 2 Many Djs… An Argentinean who relocated to Ibiza in the eighties Alfredo almost accidentally defined the concept of balearic (at a time when going to Ibiza was still exotic, cd 1), he was also among the first to champion underground US house (cd 2) and thus made Ibiza’s Amnesia legendary. Put these two discs on, close your eyes, and travel back to a time when the clubs on the white island still had their own character and style. Magic, timeless stuff, everyone should own a copy of this.
