This particular Toolroom Knight delivers one of the best mixes the label have produced so far, firing off a first mix that’s quite minimal but which packs an impressive punch at the same time. For the second mix he finds a more rounded, deeper sound, though from Workidz & Randall’s ‘Delta 51′ things go a bit mad, with a series of planes whizzing overhead. From then on the tempo’s quicker again, and Tiger Stripes’ ‘Heat’ leads into a fascinating blend of X-Press 2’s ‘Smoke Machine’ (in accapella form) and John Digweed & Nick Muir’s ‘Aquatonic’. Throughout Knight’s close attention to where the mix is going pays dividends, the result a strong contender for one of the best mixes of the summer.
