INTERSTELLAR FUGITIVES 2: DESTRUCTION OF ORDER
SUBMERGE/UNCIVILIZED WORLD

It’s a bumper time for those who doggedly scour the record shops for new material from the UR camp over in the Motor City. The ‘Galaxy 2 Galaxy’ set, Aux 88, Mr De’ and now the mothership. As on Volume One, the Interstellar Fugitives in question consist of the current roll-call presenting the most thought-provoking, inspirational and soul-hoisting ccollection ofelectronic explorations to be found anywhere. Names include Suburban Knight, the Unknown Soldier, DJ S2, the Deacon, Infiltrator, Atlantis, DJ Skurge, Von Floyd, DJ 3000, Perception, the Aquanauts, DJ Dijital and, of course, Mad Mike, probably the man doing mmore forthe cause of positive black music than anyone. His own ‘Burning Spear’ is a sumptuous expedition into intricate grooves and heart-soaring melody. Mike and Orlando Voorn produce the Blak Presidentz’ ‘Never’ and introduce a raucous strain of punk guitar rock into the mix. There’s also an illuminating DVD which strips away some of the mystique to reveal some of the positive life-force coursing from UR and maintaining Detroit’s underground as a truly formidable force with unity the key.
