Already we’re on to the fifth ‘maison’ from Kitsune, so you could be forgiven for expecting that the gravel on the drive might have been completely whipped up by now. To a certain extent that’s true, as a couple of the tracks on this selection feel like they’re trying too hard to be cool for school, with their fashionably angular basslines and shouty vocals. One or two unlistenable examples aside, there are fine moments to be found though – step forward Rex The Dog, whose ‘Circulate’ is excellent, as are contributions from Alan Braxe, Late Of The Pier and Digitalism. If you’ve collected the series you’ll enjoy this – but newcomers would be encouraged to start a bit earlier on.
