A real mixed bag from Hed Kandi here, though in the course of two discs ‘Nu Disco’ throws up a few gems. Fred Falke features heavily, remixing Grizzly Bear and Shena to good effect, while other disco stompers that work really well are Aeroplane’s take on Lindstrom & Christabelle’s ‘Baby Can’t Stop’ and Chromeo’s ‘Night By Night’. Also tidying up with some lean bass lines are Vitalic and Ethan. Not so hot, meanwhile, are new outings for The Temper Trap, Jupiter or Editors – but all pale into insignificance behind Felix Da Housecat’s superb remix of Passion Pit’s ‘Secrets’, which is head and shoulders above anything else here.
