Platform: Paul Woodford
Renaissance

The last outing for the ‘Platform’ series was the well received pair of mixes from Christian Smith, and Paul Woolford lives up to the expectations garnered from that release. There is a fair bit of tempo changing through both mixes, but once they’ve been heard a couple of times it all makes good sense – and you can enjoy some storming tracks such as Tensnake’s ‘In The End’, which hammers on to the floor with a slab of rock solid house. Later on in the first mix Woolford pulls an ace out the bag when he moves up a gear into Joy Orbison’s ‘The Shrew Would Have Cushioned The Blow’. CD2 gets out of the blocks with a spring in its step, and Woolford himself throws a few productions into the hat with excellent quick housers from Derrick Carter, Abe Duque and Josh Wink. Renaissance back on form.
