This year’s Secretsundaze release is a single CD compilation, but one worth its weight in gold. At times soulful, minimal or Latin-based, there’s a warmth to the rhythm from the moment Osunlade steps up with ‘My Reflection’, which passes through the deep ‘Jamaica’ of Minilogue, Kerri Chandler’s ‘Pong’ and Rhythm & Sound’s ‘Ruff Way’. Adding a bit of kick towards the end are Ralph Sliwinski, Sensitiva, Jus Ed and Guillaume, with Neumann’s smooth mix easing the way to a blissful deep-set contentment by the end. It’s a rarity in truth – a mix where the skip button is rendered redundant, and one of the choicest comps of the summer.
