This is a familiar template, but one that Platipus can execute extremely well. Bliss brings together what is best described by the label as ‘audio warmth’, with Charles Webster, Trentemoller, Geche and Banzai Republic all creating a heady atmosphere of horizontal relaxation. A few nice alternative touches are added too, and the Vocalise from ‘The Ninth Gate’ rounds off CD1 in dreamy style. While a largely instrumental compilation the few vocal tracks that remain are nicely done, too, with Kenneth Bager’s ‘Fragment Six…Speak My Name’ making an understated impact. Two hours of blissful audio massage.
