Pete Tong’s been releasing summer mix compilations for almost as long as I’ve been having hot dinners, and there’s no denying he knows exactly which buttons to press when preparing for an Ibiza holiday. So it is with Wonderland, two discs of summer house that are every bit as good as last year’s effort, and which get the required happy vibes early on. CD1 is the pick, a more commercial selection that reaches a peak with Deadmau5’s ‘Lack Of A Better Name’, Pryda’s ‘Melo’ and Paul Ritch’s ‘Split The Line’. Tong then strips things back a bit for his second mix, also to good effect, with Peace Division driving things forward from the outset, Radio Slave’s ‘Koma Koma’ keeping things going centre field then climaxing with Tong & Paul Rogers’ own remixes of U2 and Underworld, before levelling off a bit too much with House Of House. Solid and effective.
